FEATURES · ONBOARDING

Bring every setup into formation.

Onboarding takes a new computer from the box to ready for its user in one visible run. You assign it to its client; Overseer installs what that client’s standard asks for, restarts where a restart is needed and verifies the result. You hand over only what is verified ready.

The standard decides

The client’s deployments and tags settle what goes on each computer. Nobody works from a checklist kept in their head.

Checked, not assumed

After each action Overseer reads the computer again. An item counts as Compliant only when that check passes.

Restarts taken care of

Where an install needs a restart, the session restarts the computer and carries on from where it stopped.

A batch in view

Watch every computer in a batch move through assign, install, restart, verify and ready, and see which one is held up.

THE PROBLEM

Setting up a new computer is a long checklist.

  • Decisions before the work startsWhose computer it is, who is getting it, and which software, settings and exceptions apply.
  • Steps that live in one headPart of the setup is written down, part is out of date and part is known to one technician.
  • Waiting on restartsSomebody sits beside the computer to press restart, then starts the next install by hand.
  • Handed over on faithThe computer goes to its user because the list looked finished, not because anything was checked.
WITH OVERSEER

You assign the computer. Overseer sets it up.

  • One installer, every clientOne installer serves every client. Assigning the computer to its tenant decides what it receives.
  • Set-up work, done onceDeployments with Onboarding enforcement run once, when the computer is first set up, and are not repeated afterwards.
  • Stopped computers say whyA computer that is held up shows the stage it reached and the item that is stopping it.
  • A record of the runEach detection, install, restart and check is recorded with its result, so the handover has evidence behind it.
HOW ONBOARDING RUNS

Three steps. Then it is ready.

Hand over what is verified.

When a computer reaches ready, every item on it has been checked after the work was done. From then on, scheduled maintenance holds it to the same standard.
